When a student is going to be absent, a parent/guardian must call the CMS office at 847-464-6000, or email Joanne Brazas (joanne.brazas@central301.net) no later than 9:00 a.m. to report the absence. Messages can be left 24/7. Please provide the following information when reporting an absence:

  • The name of the person calling in the absence and the relation to the student
  • The student’s first and last name
  • The reason for the absence

If your student has a fever of 100 degrees or higher with a cough and/or sore throat, please indicate this as we are required to report this information to the Kane County Health Department.

For late arrivals due to a doctor/dentist appointment or other reason, please submit a doctor’s note to the school office upon returning to school.

For early releases, please send your student with a note to bring to the office first thing in the morning. Once you arrive in the office, we will call him/her out of class.

If you have an anticipated absence, please have your child bring a note to the office in advance explaining the reason and dates of the upcoming absence.
